Huseman Group is a family of businesses that has traditionally operated independently in the built industry. But in order to realize their collective growth goals, they needed a compelling and united presence by which to scale.
A comprehensive brand strategy exercise took the essence of what has historically been valued about Huseman Group and then elevated and expressed it in a cohesive and compelling format. This was fueled with the creation of the Brand Foundation (Brand Story, Brand Character, Tone-of-Voice, Message Tracks, Creative Toolkit) as well as an Internal Brand (Mission, Vision, Values) at the Huseman Group level and for each businesses under the umbrella. This was deployed to employees in a way that could be internalized and shared both verbally and through marketing and sales tools.
Internal productivity has gone through the roof (pun intended), as teams now have a Brand Foundation they can relate and speak to. Their presence has become more tangible and attractive as their narrative has become clearer and more focused. They feel ready to scale and grow with their brand-led business strategy.
University of Cincinnati: College of Education, Criminal Justice and Human Services
Higher education enrollment is facing two unprecedented headwinds:
1) A “demographic cliff” of college-age students, and
2) A rising scrutiny for the need of a college degree. Both are significantly impacting enrollment projections for UC CECH.
The Marketing and Recruitment Teams united to develop and execute a strategic plan rethinking enrollment in this new climate. This required a campaign-esque approach focused on eliciting attention and engagement from opportunistic recruitment targets, compelling them to believe that UC CECH is a good choice for them. The team also revisited their organizational structure, making the necessary changes needed to successfully operate. Finally, executive coaching was provided for the leaders to ensure they had the tools, mindset and capability to generate a highly-effective team.
The trifecta of strategic planning, organizational development and executive coaching has been a highly effective approach to quickly and successfully optimize the team and its focus, driving them towards action. This alone was a significant win. Now, the team has the foundation to more efficiently leverage their resources and make sound strategic choices to drive enrollment.
